Ben wins the award for "Least Updated Blog"
Soooo... I finally have a night with nothing to do (except for study for my chem test on Thursday, but we all know I don't want to do that) so I decided to finally blog. Go me!
So most of you loyal readers out there already know the biggest change in my life since the last update: I have a girlfriend. To answer the questions in your head right now, her name is Amy, I met her online, she's a sophomore "Forensic Science" major (it's in the process of becoming a major here apparently), originally from Vancouver, Washington, she lives in an apartment near Jess & Laura (for those of you that know where they live here), and she's cool! That being said, things are going well and most of my nights have been spent with her, usually while we're both doing homework (sucky, I know, but she's taking 18 credits and I have 17... Peter: 6). Also, it was kinda weird because we found out that we have 3 classes in rooms right after each other (i.e.: she has class in a room, I have class in that same room right after hers).
As for school, I've been doing well on my tests (knock on wood) and I finally certified as a Criminal Justice major when I met with my advisor last Friday. I woke up this morning at 8, which may not seem too bad to some of you but I'll explain why later, and registered for next semester. I have English 101 (finally), Psych 311 (stats class for my major), Psych 350 (social psychology, GER), Sociology 320 (for my major, and the prof was my 101 teacher... cool dude, huge BoSox fan), Bowling (with Peter), and Billiards (for now). I'm going to drop the billiards class if I can get into a Forensic Science class, but you have to contact the teacher personally, and she hasn't emailed me back yet so I'm going to try and pay her a visit tomorrow. As for the 8 o'clock thing, both of my CrmJ professors are out of town this week for some convention so those classes are cancelled. Meaning: my first and only class on Tuesday and Thursday this week is MicroBio lab at 2:50-"4:05" p.m.... On a related note, sleep is good.
In other news, Cougar football has been extremely disappointing this year. We are 4-6 heading into MY FIRST Apple Cup this Saturday, which I am EXTREMELY excited for. Being 11-point favorites to the 1-9 Dawgs, if we lose, I have vowed to not attend another Cougar football game until we win the Apple Cup again. Six years in a row is just ridiculous. Because of the game, my Thanksgiving Break is being cut down by a couple days, since we get the entire week off (WOO HOO!), but I think I can live through it. What's weird is that Thanksgiving last year was the 5th time I had gone home... this year: 1st.
As for the house, things are going great. Everyone's getting along, even moreso now with the release of Halo 2 (which I still suck at). The rooms downstairs still aren't done, still waiting for carpet. We got our second washing machine and dryer, so laundry isn't as time consuming anymore. The fridge/freezer for downstairs is reportedly coming soon via Levi, who could possibly pass off as a fridge (j/k, John and I were trying to describe him to Dane today when he called, haha). Yeah... that's about it.
Oh yes, how could i forget: Peter ordered his green iPod mini (which to my joking suggestion has "spank nuts" inscribed on the back, for those that don't read his blog), so now I'm using his minidisc player. I must say, quite an improvement over the ol' CD player. It holds 40 songs, runs off 1-AA, and the battery life indicator has yet to lose a bar. Ridiculous. Now I can only hope for my own iPod, which will put the minidisc player to shame (songwise, not battery life-wise).
I've also seen some pretty good movies lately. We went with a grip of people a while ago to see Friday Night Lights, saw Ray with my dad when he was here, finally saw Napoleon Dynamite, and of course, bought Shrek 2 the day it came out. What's in store next, you ask? In the theater: National Treasure, Nov 19; Alexander, Nov 24; OCEAN'S TWELVE, Dec 10; Meet The Fockers, Dec 22. On DVD: Spiderman 2, Nov 30 and Bourne Supremacy, Dec 7; and the semi-distant future, Troy, Jan 4 and The Notebook, Feb 8. For those of you that were hoping to get a gift idea out of that list, don't plan on it because I'm planning on buying those DVDs the DAY they come out. Speaking of, the current DVD count is 109 with the addition of Love Actually (Keira Knightley) and the aforementioned Shrek 2. That number should see an increase soon, if last Christmas is any indication (11 DVDs, including the 2nd James Bond set).
I do believe thats about it, since I actually have class in the morning and a test to study for tomorrow night. Hope that satisfies all of you out in blogland. It better, since it took me an hour and a half to write, haha.
"If not, you are an idiot and you deserve to die!" (name what that's from!)
